As a website lurker, web hosting owner and blogger, WHO.IS has been a very essential and useful website tool to me for finding out if my clients have updated their nameservers, domain owners’ details and many more. I have even stated in my previous post how their layout transformation took place.

So today, before I was to setup a new account for a client, I checked her domain via WHO.IS but to my horror, this is what I get:

PDO Connection Error: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2)

Seems like there’s a problem going on with WHO.IS? It’s the first time I ever encountered that error, in my two years of using WHO.IS. Of course, there are other websites like them such as WHOIS.NET but then again, you cannot take away from me my habit of typing “WHO.IS” in my url browser, since it is shorter.

What went wrong with WHO.IS? Well, I don’t know. But I’m hoping it will be fixed very soon because I know not only me depends on it.
