Actually, it’s supposedly only Smart and Globe – not that I hate Sun but we don’t have a good signal of it at home. If you’re totally clueless, well these three are sim card providers for mobile phones in the Philippines.
I told you before in my previous posts I was going to post about my incident with Smart and if you’ve been a reader you must have read the Smart Broadband problem I had. It seems like Smart Communications does not only fail with internet service but also with mobile services.
Some weeks ago, my boyfriend was not able to send messages to me for three days with his Smart Buddy sim card. Well, luckily he was able to borrow his brother’s sim card since he wasn’t using it anyway. We both had load to register for unlimited text service but he wasn’t able to subscribe due to the fact he couldn’t send a message, he could call numbers but not text them.
As far as I know, this is only possible to those who text a lot (who sends too many group messages) because some of my friends and classmates experienced it and say they were blocked. But this time, it sounded really ridiculous. The only person he texts a lot is me.
After some days of finally being able to send text messages, I too experienced the horror. For some reason, just after I loaded up my number with 60 PHP (just enough to register for unlimited text) I started not being able to send. It went on for three days, maybe two? On the third day my boyfriend shared me 2 PHP load for me to check if I was able to send messages. And yes, I WAS ABLE TO SEND! But when I checked my remaining load balance, I only have 1 PHP – thus, the only load I had was the load my boyfriend sent me. Now, where did the 60 PHP go? Well, it disappeared.
To my dismay I used my globe sim card for awhile since I have used it after not being able to send then my boyfriend also got himself a Touch Mobile (globe) sim card. I tweeted to Smart Communication’s supposedly twitter account my rant and then went on not really minding anymore since Smart just keeps on ripping off their customers. After another two days I checked my load balance finding out I was registered to unlimited text and it will be expiring in two days. I guess that’s what they gave in return for my load that disappeared?
Needless to say, I still wish to switch to another mobile service provider. My boyfriend also lost his sim card, yeah, funny and coincidental. I’m still worried about it though because I have been with my cellphone number since high school.
