Review: Buzz Launcher

So here’s my month delayed review of Buzz Launcher. I meant to do it earlier but as usual yours truly turned to sleepyhead mode. Moving along, have you guys heard about Buzz Launcher?

I heard about it in the official Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Philippines group. I spent an entire month with Samsung Galaxy Note 3’s default Launcher (Touchwiz UI) but I guess I can’t last that long. I didn’t want to root yet so finally I decided to try it as well. Usually I would go with Nova Launcher (plus because I bought its premium version) but I wanted to try something new, I wasn’t disappointed – thanks to Buzz Launcher!

Awesome things about Buzz Launcher:

  • Different Wallpapers on each Homescreen Page (yes, each, hence, individually)
  • Light Usage of Ram (Touchwiz took up .5 gigs of mine)
  • Many themes to choose from (called Home Packages) and you can even make yours
  • Can use images as icons
  • Can totally hide status bar (that little part above indicating battery and etc, don’t you wish you can make that disappear sometimes?)
  • Light Battery Usage

What I don’t like about Buzz Launcher (or maybe you too)

  • Does not support Touchwiz Widgets (although most 3rd party Launcher doesn’t anyway..but..)
  • Tedious to setup homescreen (it takes time! If you’re meticulous anyway!)
  • Changing theme to downloaded ones are confusing
  • Lack of App Drawer Customization (If I could at least have different scrolling types and make the icons smaller that’d be great!)

I already pointed out things I don’t like about it but I believe it has a bunch of room for improvements, the app drawer more importantly. I like to be able to hide labels in that part and make the icons smaller. This feature was a favorite in Nova Launcher.

I initially tried this launcher out because my fellow group members said that Nova launcher was the best until Buzz Launcher came. Guess it’s partly true! Now, here are some screenshots of my home screen pages:

iPad Air

Recently, Apple announced to the world their new iPad models, along with the free Mavericks OSX for Mac Book owners. Right now, many are very excited to buy their new iPads.

I originally wanted to have an iPad Mini a few months back, then, I fell in love with Samsung Galaxy Note 2 eventually ending up with Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It was a tough choice, but quite honestly I’m not impressed with the iPad air especially after seeing their Ad. I mean, come on, what’s the purpose of the pencil? I guess I still don’t know much about it but I’d choose Note 10.1 2014 edition than this. But we’ll see when it becomes available!

Preview: Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is one of the latest smartphone released by Samsung and probably the most expensive right now. It has 3 gigs of ram, 32 gb of storage and many more new features. I was very fortunate to get my hands on it finally after a long time of no eating of planning and budgeting. This might be my last expensive phone lol.

I purchased at the Samsung store in SM Megamall, originally planning to purchase at my favorite store MegaExchange but their price for credit card payment was a bit expensive. Uhm, yeah, I paid through my mom. Haha! I paid half of it to her already but since it’s now paid via card my estimated budget couldn’t make it, although I can pay for it in the following months.

So far, it’s making me crazy. Coming from your usual Android interface it indeed has many features. I can’t tell which is which and which aren’t really needed so I don’t plan to root it anytime soon, maybe I’ll get acquainted to it more these following days and as well as write a better review than this short entry 🙂

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

And so finally, last Sept 4, 2013 Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was finally announced! I was one of those who couldn’t get a eye-shut because I was so excited to hear about it – in the end however I gave up since there was very great time difference between our country and Berlin. Now that it’s been announced what can you say?

While it seems like a small “bump” for others, for me, compared to iPhone 5c and iPhone 5S this is a huge “bump” with their Note series. I’m dying of anticipation already as it still hasn’t been released. It’s apparently going to be out worldwide on September 25, 2013. I just hope the same goes with our country.

Should you wait for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3?

It was reported by trusted SamMobile that on September 4, 2013 Samsung will announce their new flagship phone – the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

It apparently has the following specs {source: knowyourmobile.com}

  • A 5.7-inch, edge-to-edge screen
  • Release date of September
  • New S Pen suite of applications
  • 3GB RAM
  • 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor or Samsung Exynos 5420 CPU
  • Touchwiz UI
  • 13-megapixel camera

Of course this may be different than the actual but will you be waiting for Samsung Galaxy Note 3? It indeed makes those who were already planning on getting the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 think as it’s just a few days away.
