As a blogger…

So often, I ask myself if I am still a blogger. For sure though, I’m not enthusiastic blogger that I used to be. Over the last few years so many things have changed, people, interwebs.

It makes me wonder how much longer I will be trying to pursue blogging because every time I get disappointed or get excited – it’s just confusing!

Then again, I am thankful to have found out about blogging. It has perks, it gives you freedom, it gives you information about the world and what you’ve never imagined. But blogging can’t be always fun and all. Sometimes, it gets boring too :/

Google Page Rank Update for 2011

Apparently, Google went mad for an update! I think this one’s major because some new websites have finally gained page rank – including Just Quixotic! Finally. However, with my other blogs I am not very happy at all in fact, it’s the other way around.

I don’t like Google’s update this June. I don’t know, the thing is, the more updated blogs lost their page rank or dropped by 1 level. I would tell frankly that with my other blog I made a mistake on not commenting on high paged-rank blogs but instead to those who were commenting back to me, who were all almost new blogs – thus, that probably ruined my back links performances. And so now, I no longer have a Page Rank 3 blog. What pisses me off is that my Facebook profile gained PR4 from PR3. Wassup google? Hello?

Makes me not want to blog anymore seriously. For others this should be a minor thing but for me very major because my PR3 and PR2 blogs are my source of income. I’m just hoping now that at least, my advertisers will still pay me. I know to myself my income will be reduced from the recent one.

Well, that’s life. I did my magic trick again though, into hoping I will get back my other page ranks, at the same time, maintain my new page ranked blogs.

I don’t know what to say. I’m to work on a website template but now I am kind of depressed. Oh, humor me. Today Google is my enemy.

Things to remember before you build your own website!

Owning a website is something you can either take seriously or jokingly. LOL, I mean, you have to decide if you’ll really put attention to it or if it’s just for fun. You see, not everyone blogs or build up websites just for one but there are some! Most of them are beginners. However, if you want to take your dreams of having a website into a higher level, then these tips will help you. So before you make a website…

1. Always plan things out, choose the main topic of your website!

There are personal blogs, commercial websites and so on. You’ve got to choose one of these IF YOU REALLY WANT the real thing. Random blogs/websites aren’t bad though, since that’s why there’s an option for you to categorize things (especially with WordPress). It will be good if you also decide on what the website contents will be so you won’t have a hard time updating!

2. Who will host your website?

Since I talked about hosting in my previous post, I hope you had read that. Think of where you will host your website, will you go with free hosting or high end hosting? Well, it’s up to you. But doing so always think of how important it will be to you  – the uptime, the services and the clients or readers.

3. What domain or website name?

Think of a name that rings a bell! I mean, a name that will leave a mark in readers’ mind and a domain name that is not hard to remember. Two-Worded domains are more likely than three to five worded domains since they’re pretty confusing!

4. What platform will be using?

There is WordPress and then also Blogspot. Joomla is to check too, there are many CMS to use and try. I prefer WordPress though if it’s for blogging! Choose what suits you and what you feel will help you in managing your website content, not confuse you!

5. Who will read your website content?
Of course, think of your readers and visitors. They’re one of the main ingredient to keep your website running! If you’ve got boring contents instead of fun ones and informative ones then that’s a problem. They are important if you want to make a name online, so, put up a website with useful contents for everyone!

Well, til here! I hope this helps you and feel free to share your tips and thoughts about this matter 🙂

Blog Directories, what do they do?

Everytime I do my blog roundings for Adgitize and during blog hopping I always notice some bloggers have joined their blogs into many blogging directories. And so I thought, why not join blogging directories too?

A few years back with my older blogs, I just them to blogging directories into believing it actually helps to get you more links, traffic and even help you gain page rank. I tried it and joined as much especially with my blogger blog and you know what – I think that’s true!

I read about it two years ago when I was researching on how I can improve my website statistics. So what I’ve been doing lately within the last 3 days is that I’ve been listing down on a notepad the urls of some blog directories. Hopefully, I will join them all soon. Watch out because I will also share this list!

What can blogging do to save the world?

Sadly, people in Japan are facing a great trouble right now. It was unexpected that their capital, Tokyo got hit by a tsunami and also an earthquake which was very shocking with its 8.9 magnitude.

Honestly, I don’t want to think of it. But I thought maybe blogging about it would help, I mean – sharing the news to my readers.

As of now, this is how blogging can help save the world, with your blogs you can either share tips on what people can do during earthquakes that may occur (hopefully not)

Lastly, simply by sharing people how they can donate or contribute to this crisis. Today, not only is recession the problem but also the continuous shattering events happening everyday.

But I am hoping everything of this will end soon, that everyone of us will be back to normal. Probably not because some lives cannot be saved, but at least better and that we can stand up once again to live for our purpose.

Now, what can blogging do to save the world? Don’t ask, just blog about it then you’ll see.
