My battle with SPAMS.

-

SPAMMMMMM

After 2 weeks of not deleting my spam mail in my gmail that I mentioned before here a month ago – I have jumping 267 spam emails! About 10% of them are from that jonn1, jonn2,jonn3 guy. Like I’ve guessed, after moving hosts emails from the jonn guy were finally gone! Oh yez!

So, is Hostgator partly a culprit? :S Well I don’t know. I did have a good stay with their hosting, I was being hosted by a friend but we were expanding with our shared hosting account so I thought of moving plus that I have my own hosting resellers I can use anytime. Originally I was planning to move out to save money for hosting payment too however, I ended up getting more bills because of VPS madness.

I hope these spams are over, well, I only get about 10 now. Yes, still 10 lol. Then on my Yahoo! mail I have about 157 right now lol. Mysteriously after connecting it to my Nokia X6, the spam email some how functioned I think (it didn’t before) that’s better than not receiving mails!

I will move on this website & the others to my own VPS soon though.

I’m just studying some stuff about security and the likes :)

But LOL I HAVE 4 VPS TO PAY FOR!

And I want more :S

PS. But I’m gonna turn down Volume Drive now because their customer service is so hard to live up with :/

Done with moving :)

Great! I’m done fixing/restoring Just Quixotic and my other blog. I hope in days the others will be seeing these sites of mine too, propagation is taking long D: Gah.

Anyway I shall make scheduled posts later! I will take a break for now and think over some personal stuffs, don’t worry, I’ll be back shortly :)

Yay for my new host! Oh speaking of host I will make a post about my recommended shared hosting companies and VPS providers (in which I have been addicted to lately. Then I will share about the spam contest in my Yahoo! mail and Google mail lol. So, see yah! Have a happy Tuesday!

June!

Hey June, don’t make it bad. Take a sad song, to make it better.
Remember, to let her into your heart. Then you can start, to make it better.

Hi guys, it’s June! Oh wow, I can’t believe this blog is about 6 or 8 months I think. Time does fly. Anyway, disregard the song but it’s based on the song “Hey Jude” by the Beatles. I heard issues about them via twitter about finally having them on iTunes, yet there were some asking, “Who are the Beatles?” I loled. I guess those were the people in the younger years than me, I’m a ’90s kid but I do however love some old songs that my parents introduced me to.

For another, I relate the song to myself because crappy Volumedrive still hasn’t given me my VPS since May 25th(when I ordered) now they email me claiming it has been sent. I was like (DUH?!) They say check spam but nothing is on my spam. On contrary, my Yahoo! email account rarely has spams, don’t know why. Some however pass through and get to my inbox. But at most, I get emails. Sometimes I don’t (which why I prefer Gmail)

Anyway, I just thought I had to make an update because it’s June!

My Semoweb Experience!

No offense against Volumedrive, but because they still haven’t deployed my VPS after almost a week, I decided to purchase a budget VPS from Semoweb instead after browsing a bit in WHT. I found a good plan plus added a bit of memory to my RAM because I thought it would be better with at least 768 Mb of Ram, I do have 1 Gig burst of RAM :)

Moving on, their support is really great so far. Plus up time is pretty good, especially because I’m currently using Lighttpd with my VPS, I tried Apache but I had trouble setting mod_rewrite module plus it uses a lot of RAM! I couldn’t upgrade my installed WordPress as well so yeah, I tried Lighttpd and it was awesome.

As for some uncertainties, I asked support ticket regarding installations also with IP Tables and they reply back really quick about 30 minutes, like they did claim in their website and offers. Dustin, the owner seems to be a nice guy as well – one time, he answered my question regarding this software I wanted to install for security of my VPS. The dudes at WHT are also helpful, there are tons of experts there and I’m glad I’m a member because it makes it easy for me to ask questions, read stuffs that leaves me with new knowledge.

Now I’m planning to move some of the websites I’m currently hosting through Hostgator to my VPS, then I will be also getting a shared plan either from Semoweb again, or my other trusted hosts, Preston Host and maybe Host1me too! Depends on my budget and specific needs although I like Preston Host’s current new deal with their new server, Saturn. However, my funds from my client has not arrived yet. My paypal is empty LOL.

Anyway, so far my Semoweb experience is superb! I am still waiting for my Volumedrive VPS though, after all their VPS offer still have good specs as well which I want to enjoy. But I suppose it’s going to take another week~

I hope I won’t run out of slots? Anyway, I have setup my other domains as well and they have WordPress installed now particularly, Girly Nerd blog and Just Blogged.

In Girly Nerd I will be posting my VPS experiences or whatnots then on Just Blogged, I will simply post my latest updated blogs so my blog friends won’t be confused.

Unmanaged VPS from Volumedrive

I am tempted to buy a VPS from Volumedrive. As you all know, on those nights I claim to “sleep early” there are 50% chances I am not really sleeping, but reading threads at WebhostingTalk.com and reading some posts at LowendBox.com/blog. The more I read, the more I am tempted to buy a VPS! But I can’t afford a Managed VPS which is more suitable to me. An unmanaged vps could probably save me more but the main problem is, where do I learn all of those things I need to because I will be starting from scratch!

Volumdrive.COM

I want to learn more about VPS, because I know you can do so many things with it! I wish I had somebody to teach me though, it would be great. For now though I still have to think over this matter. Maybe soon I will be able to decide. On my next post, I will tell you about the difference of Managed VPS and Unmanaged VPS – it might also help me more once I do more researches about it on working on my post.
