How’s iOS 5.1.1 for you?

I finally upgraded to iOS 5.1.1 yesterday and I must say, I feel the changes – it’s more faster and then for one, jailbreak is easier. But I still ended up with Graviboard giving me Safe Mode which made me sad. Page2D does not work with it as well, hopefully, soon!

Klapaucius, rocking on iOS 5.1.1

Sorry for too much Rilakkuma. I also finally bought Dashboard X because I was too lazy to put in xsellize. I guess it’s not too bad and totally worth the $1.99 because I finally had twitter widget working too. I hope they make more widgets. I’m loving my upgrade so far! I hope Graviboard and Page2D will work too :)

Cydia Packages for June 2012

So, I’m going to upgrade now to iOS 5.1.1 because I read from Wordjelly works fine now with the latest OS. It’s becoming laggy again as well. Actually, every time I upgrade or restore it becomes laggy. But well I hope that could be just one of my Cydia Tweaks. Lately, I haven’t been really using my iOS device much. Since I am always busy doing other things. And sleepy. Well, here it goes!

Wow, that’s a lot. I copied everything in my installed packages. Now, time to restore ;)

I put in italic those that I’m thinking to not install and also striked those I plan to not install at all.

Microsoft Surface Tablet

Just yesterday,  Microsoft unveiled their first ever tablet which they call the Microsoft Surface Tablet. According to tech pros, it looks really sleek and something that can be compared to iPad however, it was also said that it will be on wifi only at the moment. Nevertheless, here are the specs. It comes in two versions.

Windows RT, light weight but with kick-ass specs.

  • 676g
  • 9.33 mm thick
  • 10.6″ ClearType HD DIsplay
  • 31.5 Wh battery
  • microSD, USB 2.0, Micro HD Video
  • Office Home & Student 2013 RT, Touch Cover, Type Cover
  • 32 GB, 64 GB

Windows 8 Pro, almost same specs with Windows RT but a bit more “pro feel”

  • 903 g
  • 13.5 mm thick
  • 10.6″ ClearType Full HD Display
  • 42 Wh battery
  • microSDXC, USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort Video,
  • Touch Cover, Type Cover, Pen with Palm Block
  • 64 GB, 128 GB

Maybe after all, Windows/Microsoft stand a change against Android, Blackberry and Apple. My only theory is, they won’t succeed that quick as developers of apps and games are still glued to the said other two competitors.

iOS 6 Features

Some days ago, I’ve read that iOS 6 is indeed in the works and developers were already seeing traces and bits of the said OS for Apple Gadgets.

According to Techradar.com, here are the most of changes in iOS 6

New maps
- It’s in 3D mode and it “looks beautiful” plus it is integrated to Siri so you can ask questions whenever you need to get to a place such as when asking the nearest restaurant and etc.

Facebook Integration
- So, after Facebook’s sulking over this issue (the reason why everyone who posted via Apple devices were “via mobile” they say..) Facebook is now integrated like Twitter is. Integration of Facebook events is also now applied.

Phoning Up
- The Do Not Disturb feature, this way no sounds nor screen light ups will occur when activated. It is automatically put on when a person calles within the 3 minutes. You can also set a reminder to call someone based on your location (neat isn’t it?) such as when you are heading to a place (i.e your house)
Groups in contact list is now possible as well.

FaceTime and Safari
- Now, FaceTime works even if you aren’t on Wifi. Also, it’s connected to your apple ID. So in case you want to switch to your iPad from getting a FaceTime call from your iPhone, you can accept the call on the iPad and vice versa.
- You can now save pages to read later (no more need for apps, great!) plus you can now upload photos directly from Safari, at last.

And for sure, there are many other surprises. Are you looking forward this change?

Navifirm Plus

Navifirm Plus - what exactly is it? Well, for better understanding I’ll explain a bit to you.

Navifirm Plus

Navifirm Plus

It is a software used to download Nokia phone firmwares from the oldest to the newest. This is very useful if you’re someone who loves trying out latest firmwares in advance or if you want to use a CFW (they are essential for restoration and some files are also used with CFW or custom firmwares)

However, using it comes along that responsibility of knowing what your firmware is because even if you find your Nokia phone model, there are different ones from different countries and different versions.

Now, flashing the firmware to your Nokia phone is another thing which is done with JAF  or Phoenix. Remeber though never ever flash older firmwares than your phone’s because it will brick it.

To find out your phone’s correct firmware, simply find out through dialing *#0000# while active. Then turn it off to take out the battery, at the back, you will see a code

Code and Firmware (version can be found doing *#0000#)

Code and Firmware (version can be found doing *#0000#)

These tools are a must if you wish to explore your Symbian phone in so many ways. Just be very careful in the files you will download and double check firmware versions.
