Cloudfone Thrill 430x

My office-mate was hunting an affordable Android phone for himself for some months already. So every now and then I would pitch in while he was searching for information online. His first choice was Cherry Mobile Flare since it was indeed a good deal for an Android phone – which you can get for 3,999 PHP ($100).

However, this mobile phone seemed to be never on-stock. If it would be, it would be gone like the wind. Guess too many liked it. Thus, my office mate gave up and tried to look for other mobile phones he could get.

Actually, there are a lot of local Android phones right now, especially because it’s Christmas. Cherry Mobile indeed started the craze but there’s Starmobile’s AstraMyphone A919 and many others with the almost same specs comparing them to one another.

But in all of these there’s one thing they lack – longer battery life. I told my office-mate that maybe Cloudfone 430x is for him. I’ve mentioned it to him before but we didn’t really pay attention because Cloudfone isn’t really known. One day though, we decided to have a thorough research about it leading to many good feedback.

Unlike the said mobile phones, Cloudfone Thrill 430x is equipped with 768 MB ram as well opposed to the usual 512 MB Ram. It also has 4 GB internal memory (2 GB user accessible) like all these and can also be inserted a micro SD card. Most of all, it has 4160 mAh (battery life) that can last for days even without charging.

I was surprised when my office-mate showed me that he actually bought it. I guess it truly suits him since he’s a heavy gamer (and it’s really awesome for PHP 7,777 ). If you’re going to buy it in cash, that is. It can also be bought through a credit card which will then cost you 8,300 PHP instead.

According to him however, the said discount price is only until December 15th. I wish they would extend! Heehee, or better, they should have another model with even better specs.

AIS mobile network

If you’re planning to stay at Thailand, one of their mobile networks you can rely to is AIS mobile network. You can easily find their store at the airport.

I once subscribed to their 50 mb internet plan and hopefully, I get to use that again. I lost my saved information on how to register. So far, comparing their internet services in Philippine mobile networks’ it’s almost actually the same but slightly better in a way.

Pumping the music up : Gear up with a good headphone!

Music can never be what it is without being heard. However, we don’t really know so much about good headphones that we can pair up with our gadgets.

While you can find some cheap ones online, we can also find others that are of good quality. We can find musicians friend akg headphones and many more that can give us so much more that just what music actually provide – the real sound that can make us dance, cry, or even shout our hearts out as we listen to our favorite songs.

Purchasing from Nokia Ovi Store

As I mentioned before, I’ve been hooked to my Nokia X5 again. Aside from these I’ve discovered how to purchase from Nokia Ovi Store a few months ago. In our country, Philippines – they don’t really allow usage of Visa Cards like how it was with iTunes. So it’s pretty much of a hassle. Not even by Gcash or Smartmoney. But somehow near, I guess.

I purchased 3 themes which I will also introduce for my Nokia X5 website, Strawberried (strawberried.net) but it’s not open yet. Sorry. Among all my purchased themes though, my favorite is Dino.

This is from MMMOOO, I also bought the Blackberry version of this but you know, it’s wayyyy better in Nokia. Why oh why? I wish they ported those cute icons. The colors blend in well so much. Just perfect for my candy phone!

To purchase from Nokia Ovi Store

1. Create your Nokia Ovi Account (you will be asked upon log in Nokia Store)

You can also check this through Options -> Sign in/Register -> Settings

2. Just follow the instructions. The key here is to make sure you’ve filled up what your primary phone number is

and that you’ve selected Phone Bill as your payment gateway during your account setup.

3. Load up your phone with load and of how much you’re gonna need (Autoload, Smart eLoad)

4. At Nokia Ovi Store, simply purchase or hit buy. Your load will be deducted of how much the application or theme you bought is.

That simple! However, it’d really be much better if purchases using Visa Cards and Master Cards were possible. Even Gcash and Smartmoney would do.

Nokia Ovi Messenger

Lately, I’ve been tinkering with my Nokia X5 (Strawberry) which led me to download/buy new themes over Nokia Ovi Store at the same time, I had to open my Nokia Ovi account. Little did I know, I had two..actually, three! I forgot the password to the other one.

But it led me to thinking…why didn’t we use the Nokia Ovi Messenger so much? It’s almost the same with BBM and iMessage after all. In fact, it came before iMessage. The only time I used it (with my first account with Nokia Ovi) was last year July (same time I got my Nokia X5) with a close friend. But eventually, we didn’t chat much. The @ovi.com address is pretty neat. My boyfriend owned a Nokia C3 back then as well but it’s not just really his type loading up for subscription which is partly a reason. Nevertheless, I would be happy to use it sometime…the only thing is I have no one to chat there right now anyway.
