Apple UDID released in public by hackers

Yesterday, breaking news was that a million of Apple UDIDs were released in public by some hackers. It was reported that they did it through an FBI Agent’s laptop.

Originally the said file they obtained contained about 12,000,000 of UDIDs which includes the users’ data such as name, addresses, and many more.

The FBI denies the hackers’ statement, however, for one, this makes a very alarming news as many of us own Apple IDs and have our credit card information and personal information tied to them.

What could be the reason behind this? We do not know really, and how does it affect us now?

Purchasing from Nokia Ovi Store

As I mentioned before, I’ve been hooked to my Nokia X5 again. Aside from these I’ve discovered how to purchase from Nokia Ovi Store a few months ago. In our country, Philippines – they don’t really allow usage of Visa Cards like how it was with iTunes. So it’s pretty much of a hassle. Not even by Gcash or Smartmoney. But somehow near, I guess.

I purchased 3 themes which I will also introduce for my Nokia X5 website, Strawberried (strawberried.net) but it’s not open yet. Sorry. Among all my purchased themes though, my favorite is Dino.

This is from MMMOOO, I also bought the Blackberry version of this but you know, it’s wayyyy better in Nokia. Why oh why? I wish they ported those cute icons. The colors blend in well so much. Just perfect for my candy phone!

To purchase from Nokia Ovi Store

1. Create your Nokia Ovi Account (you will be asked upon log in Nokia Store)

You can also check this through Options -> Sign in/Register -> Settings

2. Just follow the instructions. The key here is to make sure you’ve filled up what your primary phone number is

and that you’ve selected Phone Bill as your payment gateway during your account setup.

3. Load up your phone with load and of how much you’re gonna need (Autoload, Smart eLoad)

4. At Nokia Ovi Store, simply purchase or hit buy. Your load will be deducted of how much the application or theme you bought is.

That simple! However, it’d really be much better if purchases using Visa Cards and Master Cards were possible. Even Gcash and Smartmoney would do.

Nokia Ovi Messenger

Lately, I’ve been tinkering with my Nokia X5 (Strawberry) which led me to download/buy new themes over Nokia Ovi Store at the same time, I had to open my Nokia Ovi account. Little did I know, I had two..actually, three! I forgot the password to the other one.

But it led me to thinking…why didn’t we use the Nokia Ovi Messenger so much? It’s almost the same with BBM and iMessage after all. In fact, it came before iMessage. The only time I used it (with my first account with Nokia Ovi) was last year July (same time I got my Nokia X5) with a close friend. But eventually, we didn’t chat much. The @ovi.com address is pretty neat. My boyfriend owned a Nokia C3 back then as well but it’s not just really his type loading up for subscription which is partly a reason. Nevertheless, I would be happy to use it sometime…the only thing is I have no one to chat there right now anyway.

Google Releases Chrome for iPhone and iPad

Finally, Google releases Google Chrome for iOS devices. For quite some time now, most iOS users were depending on Dolphin Browser and other fancy browsers that could compare to Chrome’s features. Now that the official is released, what do you think will it bring? Perhaps Safari will have to go now?

However, those who have tried out claims it’s not really Google Chrome but rather still the built-in OS because of this:

I haven’t tried it but about to download, it’s available in iTunes now so give it a try! Google Chrome - iTunes App Store

AS-002 Micro Mini USB Keyboard Review

AS-002 Micro Mini USB Keyboard is a USB mini-keyboard from CD-R King. It’s a local store in Philippines were you’ll find cheap computer and electronic utilities. That said, I was able to give it a try because I bought one for my laptop that seemed to be having problems with the keyboard.

AS-002 Micro Mini USB Keyboard, something like 8-9 inches.

At first, I was really excited. Because I thought it was cute and all. Of course, I was a fan of “cute things”. We were able to give it a test at CD-R King, SM Megamall to find out if the keys were working and it’s good all keys were fine. Then I tested it on my boyfriend’s net book. I had to wait because it installs really slow considering that it’s supposed to be plug and play. Microsoft is taking a long time looking for its drivers. Then finally gave it a go.

Typing is hard. I must admit, I have small fingers but it’s still hard because for one, the keys were arranged differently. Tab key doesn’t exist, it’s just a function and then lastly, functions do not work as they do with your laptop/netbook (you know how laptops have their functions right? And I use them most of the time)

Overall, it’s good if you’re on the go or with a broken laptop like me. Heehee. Unfortunately, our “broken laptop” won’t turn on. So I wasn’t able to test it there. My intention for buying it was to be able to use that old laptop. Oh well~

Price is 880 PHP or so (I can’t recall). For its price, it should be just 500 because really, you’ll end up not using it x) I would still prefer an original keyboard in the end. But it’s worth the try ;) Handy when some keyboards are acting up.
