ISP switch soon?

Our internet provider for 4 years already is Smart Broadband. I must say, there are good times and bad times. There are several unfortunate events that dismays me and but mostly, it’s okay.

Smartbro

Okay…but the customer service can get on your nerves. But then again, I think most customer services are like that except pizza restaurants since their only job is to talk about your pizza. I don’t like the issue about the “free printer” though. I expected we’ll get one because I’ve been hearing from people who are also using Smart Broadband that they got themselves free printer, an HP Printer with a higher model than ours. When mom inquired they told us, “we’d have to be locked for another 2 years” to get a free printer – while those who told me who got their printer just newly got their subscription OR got subscription AFTER we did. You see, WE DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT IT from the very start we weren’t informed about it.

Now I’m thinking of telling mom to switch internet providers soon since I pay for our internet lately. I really hate how unfair Smart Broadband is. Also, before, I believe the connection was 10 mbps, NOT 2 mpbs. I suppose that’s why downloading takes years unlike back then and before, I could browse fast while I got downloads.

Overall, I am deeply sad :P Plus just this week we didn’t have internet for half a day. Imagine the burden.

I fancy a car.

Cute Pikachu Car <3

Okay, I don’t own this car. So, I do fancy a car. I saw this in Google upon typing “cute cars’. Well, you know me – I love cute stuff. But anyways, do you fancy a car too?

My dad promised me before he’d teach me how to drive once I reach the age 14. However, this plan didn’t push through because we don’t own the vehicle we do have at home. I bet I’d wreck it on the process of learning of to drive. They say it’s part of learning, wrecking the car lol. So I didn’t bother ask about driving lessons or what.

Yet since we’ll be off to U.S. hopefully in two years, I’ve been thinking maybe it wouldn’t be bad to try to learn how to drive. I can always go to this website to learn about all car types and also find there in case I cause problems while learning how to drive. And you could too!

WordPress Upgrade Problem

In my hosting website, my clients have been complaining that their comments weren’t working. I found out a bit later that the culprit was when they upgraded to the latest WordPress released through the WordPress Dashboard.

So, about three days ago I also installed an outdated WordPress so I can try upgrading and see the error they were getting. And so it turns out they were getting this error:

Fatal Error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720)….

As usual, Google didn’t fail to give me answers. I already know of this error with Hostgator but fixed it in a different manner. I had uploaded a modified php.ini file that could maximize the upload limit into the public_html. But that was with Hostgator.

With other hosts, such as my free hosting (candyhost.info) you have to place the php.ini file to wp-admin. So at first I followed a tutorial I saw abou editing install.php and also wp-config.php. But none of them worked. In fact I had gained other errors! Was able to fix those added errors though by removing the codes I added. Finally, I tried what I did with my free hosting and so it worked!

You see what’s going on is that our host has a default settings for the upload max size. But we can edit that with the help of the right php.ini file.

I already prompted my clients about it. I hope it does fix their problem with upgrading WordPress. If you need help like them feel free to email me about it at nadine@justquixotic.com.

Love the green fields?

When we hear the word “province” what comes in our minds are the green fields, lots of trees and everything about nature. That what comes into my mind when I hear the names of our provinces, just like last time when I went there. But things have changed so it was really different.

I do think about those green fields. There were still some there but not a lot as before. Anyway, do you love green fields? If you do, don’t forget about having the best lawn mower just like those that are found at snapper mowers because your green fields would look like a forest and a messy place without it!

I wonder if we can have green fields here in our home. Not probably because it’s small, sadly. I guess I’ll just wait for that chance for me to see that green view again when we get to visit other provinces!

Why I was MIA!

MIA stands for missing in action. For some days, about a week I didn’t post on any of my blogs. Even here, yes. I took a long break from all the madness. I mean, after all it was Holy Week.

I had a lot of this!

Actually, I had tried going online the moment we got there in Cavite. However, my prepaid internet is crappy. It relies on 3G signal but there was none of it there so I just gave up. On the next day, I was pretty upset because someone was supposed to be there but he couldn’t make it because he had excuses. Ahh, but it’s okay let’s set that aside.

I had fun with my family and cousins, we had swimming in a resort within Cavite, only I didn’t really know how to swim so I stayed only in the lower water levels of the pool. I wish I was taller that moment, lol because the moment I walked on more the more I felt like drowning.

At the end of the vacation I had I dropped by the house of our other relatives along with my mom and dad. Then they gave me a kitten. I named her Skye, but she has a last name. I think I’ll just make a blog about my pets soon hehe :)

On Saturday and Sunday, I was sleeping and playing Aruarose all day because there is an event, same with Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, our internet at home was sore. I believe almost all of Smart Broadband users experienced that. Grrr. Anyway it’s fixed now, but I’ll make a separate post about it.

So, that’s how it is! How was your Holy Week?
